Westward Ho!

We're leaving early tomorrow morning to pay a visit to Wally's mother. I love Vermont, I think it's a great state, but it always slightly bums me out when I look at the map and see how close Portland and Rutland are:

...and knowing what should be a brisk 2ish-hour drive is instead a long up'n'down 4-hour drive, the nerve! Is this what Eisenhower intended when he ripped off the Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate of Defense Highways from the Nazis? Doubt it, but the drive is worth it, Vermont is beautiful and Jimmy really needs to see his gramma. Wish us a safe trip and peace for yet another cancer victim.
